The Aura VA-40 Rebirth utilizes a single push-pull circuit built with British Exicon ECX10P20/ECX10N20 MOS-FETs, which are well-known and loved among hi-fi enthusiasts and used by renowned high-end manufacturers such as Goldmund and Nagra. The new iteration of the integrated amplifier delivers a solid 50 W per channel at 8 ohms, thanks to a 200 VA toroidal transformer and, most notably, an innovative cooling method for the output stage. This stage is mounted on brackets attached to two sizable horizontal heatsinks occupying half the chassis, positioned directly beneath the top cover, which features ventilation slots. This solution provides the transistors with optimal working conditions, preventing overheating and degradation over time, while effectively damping mechanical vibrations.
The amplifier is equipped with high-quality components such as Vishay metal-film resistors, Nichikon Muse capacitors, gold-plated contacts, and other elements, allowing the VA-40 Rebirth to proudly represent the nearly forgotten school of sound in today’s world. The stylish casing and front panel are crafted by Japanese metallurgy specialists in Tsubame-Sanjo City. Vinyl enthusiasts will be pleased to know that, in addition to three standard RCA line inputs, the amplifier also features a phono input designed for MM cartridges.
