While designing a device not as simple as a power conditioner, Lemon Audio engineers naturally encountered many incredibly intriguing technical aspects that required a fresh and innovative approach. Primarily, in the case of many power conditioners, we often encounter a loss of dynamics stemming from an inadequately considered topology of the entire system. Therefore, from the very beginning, Lemon Audio guiding principle was “primum non nocere” (first, do no harm). With passion and dedication, power conditioner was created from scratch that not only wouldn’t degrade the sound but would also enhance every aspect of it.
One of the crucial factors for the overall final effect is that each section of the conditioner is dedicated to specific devices. Thus, on the rear panel, personalized sockets for devices were provided such as digital sources, preamplifiers/DACs, or power-hungry power amplifiers. With meticulous attention to detail and after numerous hours of listening sessions, Lemon Audio fine-tuned each of these sections so that the sonic result is more than just the sum of its parts.
For example, Lemon Audio used modern chokes with hard-to-find nano-crystalline cores in the damping filters. Meanwhile, the DC-Blocker features the finest capacitors from the renowned Mundorf company. Not only do they have excellent measurable parameters (such as low ESR), but they are also long-lasting. The network transformer, on the other hand, is a symmetrical solution based on an amorphous core made of specially annealed 0.3mm steel. It not only has incredibly low resistance but also, crucially, shields between windings.
