A sleek design profile featuring a set of 5 1/2” high-performance drivers, engineered to handle demanding power levels with precision.
An unconventional acoustic load is paired with an extremely refined crossover circuit—both in terms of component quality and the seamless blending of sounds with exceptional musicality—all while attentively catering to the amplifier’s needs. The sophisticated cabinet is constructed using various materials through the layer constraint technique, resulting in an almost resonance-free structure, with all hardware designed in-house and manufactured in Italy.
To ensure an authentic listening experience, sound should come only from the drivers, not the cabinet. Vibrations in cabinet panels cause distortion, so they must be rendered as inert as possible. Rosso Fiorentino’s constrained layer damping, used throughout the ARNO series, minimizes internal resonances by combining materials with complementary acoustic properties. This approach enhances rigidity, damping, and overall clarity. The result is a purer sound, a more defined soundstage, and improved bass response. Additionally, fibrous damping materials and air “cushions” help absorb cabinet resonances, enhancing energy distribution within the speaker enclosure.
Rosso Fiorentino design and develop nearly every aspect of their loudspeakers in-house. However, their commitment to advancing audio technology also includes collaboration with specialized manufacturers, a key factor in achieving the highest levels of quality. This approach proved essential in the development of the ARNO series drivers. By partnering with a renowned Italian manufacturer, the design team was able to translate their concepts into tangible, high-performance products. Every detail—from materials to production processes—was carefully optimized, resulting in a unique line of Rosso drivers crafted exclusively for the ARNO series.
Rosso Fiorentino’s design philosophy does not adhere to a single electroacoustic method but instead selects the most effective technique for each product. Rather than strictly favoring first-order crossovers, the engineering team employs the best approach to meet defined performance goals. The crossover for the ARNO40 was developed from scratch, using top-tier components and proprietary elements such as custom coils. The design focuses on achieving a more resistive and stable impedance, allowing amplifiers to perform more efficiently and delivering superior sound quality.
All mechanical parts are designed and manufactured in Italy. This includes aluminum vented ports, precision-milled 8mm aluminum front panels for the driver mounts, as well as spikes and counter-spikes. Even the connectors are made in-house from pure copper, then gold and palladium plated for long-term durability. An anodized aluminum bushing with a friction lock mechanism ensures a secure grip on any type of cable.
