Florentia is composed of three distinct modules, each dedicated to a specific frequency range. The upper and lower sections are sealed enclosures housing the mid-bass and bass drivers, while the central module employs an open baffle design for the midrange and treble drivers, along with the crossover network.
The lower module incorporates two 12-inch proprietary subwoofers in a sealed, extensively braced enclosure, designed to minimize cabinet vibrations and extend bass response below 20 Hz. Developed in collaboration with B&C Speakers, these neodymium-powered drivers are capable of extreme excursions with minimal compression. Each subwoofer is independently powered by a 1050W digital amplifier, featuring DSP adjustments to ensure optimal integration with various room acoustics.
The middle module houses two midrange drivers, a soft-dome tweeter, and a ribbon ultrasonic generator within a CNC-machined aluminum-HDF composite panel, precisely shaped to reduce diffraction. Its open baffle construction eliminates resonance-induced coloration, while angled, absorbent panels behind the drivers suppress rear-wave reflections, eliminating boxiness. The result is a transparent, lifelike sound with notable depth and a wide, immersive soundstage.
The upper module includes a custom 10-inch woofer, specifically engineered for low distortion, excellent transient response, and extended mid-bass coverage from 60 Hz to 200 Hz. Positioned at the top of the system, it reduces floor reflections and improves clarity in the lower fundamentals of acoustic instruments. This section, like the others, is decoupled using rubber isolation inserts to prevent mechanical vibration transfer. An internal bracing structure and low-loss cabinet construction deliver an optimal QTC value of 0.71, ensuring tightly controlled and accurate bass reproduction.
Located within and behind the middle module, the crossover network—the core of the system—is divided into three well-ventilated, multi-level sections. Entirely hand-wired, the circuit uses audiophile-grade components from industry-renowned manufacturers, along with specially developed custom elements. A set of fine-tuning controls allows the output of each frequency section to be increased or decreased, enabling precise adjustment to suit the specific acoustic characteristics of any listening environment.
